What is necessary and where can I take a vaccine?

To obtain a vaccine just have to go to the Health Centre, with the Individual Health Book (Vaccination Book). It is not necessary to have a family doctor.
Vaccination is the safest way to avoid some diseases:
 
• Tuberculosis, diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, polio, meningitis, measles, a mumps, rubella, hepatitis B and some meningitis are diseases that affect mainly children and are avoidable by vaccination;
• Some diseases can be fatal or have severe consequences;
• To be protected against certain diseases, you need to receive several doses and vaccination reinforces throughout life;
• Follow completely the vaccination schedule;
• Vaccines included in the National Immunisation Programme are free.
Vaccines are essential not only for children but also for adults.
 
What is the Individual Health Book?
The Individual Health Book (Vaccination Book), in the case of children and adolescents should be attached to the Child and Youth Health Book, is a document where the vaccinations are registered.
This book is mandatory for registration in a pre-school or school and at any education.
